Schools are encouraged to host a school-level competition to determine the one submission in each category listed below.
What are you creating?
A tri-fold or poster on an easel display not to exceed the standard 28”x 40.” All artifacts must be attached to the display.
How is it judged?
A rubric will be used with a focus on thorough description, supporting evidence, innovation/creativity, student impact and collaboration.
Who’s doing the judging?
Members of the AON A-Team will judge this event.
What are the categories?
Academy Student Experience: A student-led initiative, capstone project, internship, experiential learning or similar experience related to a Career Academy Pathway or building Academy culture and identity (includes Freshman Academy).
Teacher Externship: Teacher externship experiences and the project-based lesson used in the classroom to connect students to industry. Schools are encouraged to include pictures and other artifacts collected during the externship experience as well as student work from the interdisciplinary lesson.
How will entries be recognized?
The top three displays will be recognized (along with business partner for externships) at the awards ceremony, but all submissions will be shown.
